ZMF Eikon

The reviewer finds the ZMF Eikon to be a premium, handcrafted closed-back headphone with excellent build quality and accessories. Sonically, it offers a warm, impactful bass, forward and detailed mids, and a slightly bright treble, making it a reference-oriented headphone that excels with well-recorded music. The standout feature is its exceptional imaging and soundstage for a closed-back, though it is heavy and has a minor design quirk with freely rotating cups.

The reviewer finds the ZMF Eikon to be a beautifully built, comfortable, and warm-sounding sealed headphone that offers a very pleasant and engaging listening experience, though it has some treble unevenness and lacks the ultimate resolution of competitors like the Ether C. It is highly recommended for tube amplifier enthusiasts, but the reviewer would choose an Ether if forced to pick just one.

The reviewer finds the ZMF Eikon to be an impressive closed-back headphone with a wide soundstage and detailed treble, but notes that its intense treble can be fatiguing and sometimes causes him to skip tracks. He prefers the more neutral and relaxed ZMF Atticus for long listening sessions, though he acknowledges the Eikon's strengths for certain genres and calls it one of the best closed-backs available.

The reviewer considers the ZMF Eikon the best closed-back headphone they have ever heard, praising its exceptional build quality, comfort, and dynamic micro-detail retrieval. While they note a slight 6kHz peak and the high price, they find these issues non-deal-breaking and overall highly recommend it, especially over the Sony Z1R.
