Image © AmazonThe HiFiMAN HE 1000 Stealth is a wired, open-back planar magnetic flagship that delivers a neutral, highly detailed sound signature. It's easier to drive than typical planars thanks to its 32-ohm impedance and 93 dB sensitivity, yet still rewards quality amplification. With its relatively lightweight build for a large headphone and detachable balanced cable, it offers strong technical performance and comfort, though its size and price may not suit everyone.

4 source(s) feeding this product's score.
Video reviews we found, each condensed to its verdict. They do feed the HearWiki score, at a measured weight below what a published written review carries.
19:41The reviewer compares three HiFiMAN headphones, including the HE1000 Stealth, and finds the Stealth to be the most premium and technically capable of the trio, with a slightly more refined build and a classic aesthetic. While all three share the HiFiMAN house sound, the Stealth offers a more spacious and detailed presentation, making it a strong contender at its discounted price, though it may be brighter and require careful source pairing.
12:31The reviewer finds the HiFiMAN HE1000 Stealth Magnet to be a highly enjoyable and technically capable headphone, offering a large, immersive soundstage and detailed presentation that justifies its price, though it has a slightly bright treble and a soft, diffuse bass that may not suit all preferences. It is considered a strong value compared to its original price and outperforms cheaper HiFiMAN siblings, but requires a good amplifier to sound its best.
16:40The reviewer finds the HiFiMan HE1000 Stealth to be a well-built, comfortable open-back planar headphone with a warm yet detailed sound signature, improved treble smoothness over the Arya Stealth, and a spacious soundstage. They note it is easy to drive and offers good value at its reduced price, despite minor quality control concerns.
11:06The reviewer finds the HiFiMAN HE1000 Stealth to be an excellent planar magnetic headphone, offering outstanding technical performance, a wide soundstage, and a neutral, natural timbre. It is compared favorably to the Arya Stealth, with the HE1000 Stealth being more resolving and having better treble extension, though the Arya Stealth offers a more intimate and cohesive presentation. The reviewer considers it a top-tier value at $1399 and names it their headphone of the year for 2023.
