Review: The Xiaomi Redmi AirDots 3 has 7 hours battery life - are they good? Includes Redmi AirDots 2 vs Redmi AirDots 3 comparison and test vs Edifier X3.

The HearWiki takeAI-condensed

The Xiaomi Redmi AirDots 3 offer a long 7-hour battery life per charge and 30 hours with the case, plus solid Bluetooth 5.2 and aptX Adaptive support. While they mark an improvement over earlier models with USB-C charging, their larger fit, limited touch controls, and sound tuned more for speech than music make them a tough sell at their price point.

What works

  • Long 7-hour single charge battery life
  • USB-C charging for convenience
  • Supports aptX Adaptive for better wireless audio
  • IPX4 water resistance for workouts

What doesn't

  • Bulky case and earbuds compared to predecessors
  • Limited touch controls
  • Sound quality leans toward podcasts, not music
  • Poor value compared to cheaper alternatives

Ultimately, the Xiaomi Redmi AirDots 3 doesn't have a great proposition. With its superior battery life and and USB-charging, it's an improvement over previous models. However, as the case and earbuds are noticeably bigger, it still has limited controls, and the sound is better for podcasts than for music… it isn't worth twice of even three times the price of the Redmi AirDots 2.
