Skullcandy Crusher® 540 Active

The reviewer is highly impressed with the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active, praising its signature sensory bass that vibrates intensely, which he considers unmatched by other headphones. He highlights the new breathable ear cushions as a major improvement over the previous Evos model, especially for gym use, and notes the sweat/water resistance and long battery life. He recommends these for active users who want that physical bass sensation, while suggesting the cheaper Evos for those who don't work out.

The reviewer tested the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active headphones over several days, focusing on their fitness-oriented design. They found the sweat/water resistance, breathable ear cushions, and secure fit to be excellent for workouts, with solid battery life and the signature Crusher bass. While the sound quality is similar to the Crusher Evo, the lack of ANC, tighter fit, and higher price compared to the ANC2 are noted as drawbacks, but overall they are recommended as the best Crusher option for active use.

The reviewer finds the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active to be a niche product, primarily suited for gym workouts due to its sweat resistance and cloth ear cups, but notes that it lacks sound isolation and has a less tight bass compared to other Crusher models. They consider it overpriced and not a versatile everyday option, recommending it only for those who specifically want Crusher bass for fitness.

The reviewer finds the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active headphones to be very similar to the Crusher EVO, with only minor differences like cloth ear cups and slightly stiffer clamping force. They conclude that since the sound, features, and app are nearly identical, buyers should choose whichever model is cheaper unless they specifically prefer the cloth ear cups.

The reviewer finds the Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active to be a decent pair of headphones, especially for gym use, thanks to their secure fit, breathable ear cushions, and the signature sensory bass. However, they note that the build quality feels cheap, the material is prone to getting dirty, and the lack of features like ANC and multi-point pairing is a drawback. Overall, they seem to have mixed feelings, leaning slightly positive for its intended purpose.

The reviewer compares the Skullcandy Crusher EVO and Crusher 540 Active, noting they are nearly identical except for the 540's moisture-resistant cushions and slightly different clamping force. They praise the powerful sensory bass and portability but criticize the lack of EQ, distortion at high volumes, and the $200 price, recommending buying on sale. Overall, they enjoy them as a bass-heavy, gym-friendly option.
