Is the OPPO Enco Air5 Pro worth the upgrade from the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Pro?
Verdict
Meaningful upgrade
The OPPO Enco Air5 Pro scores 9.1 points above the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 8 Pro. That's a real improvement, though not the kind you'd notice on every track. The gains are concentrated in battery (5.5 to 9.0) and noise cancelling (8.0 to 9.0). On paper: battery life 10 h to 13 h, weight 10.6 g to 4.4 g and bluetooth 5.4 to 6.0. Worth checking: codecs goes SBC, AAC, LC3, LHDC to SBC, AAC, LHDC and drivers per side goes 3 to 2. It's also $6 cheaper, which makes this an easy call. Worth doing if you're replacing anyway; harder to justify as a pure upgrade if what you have still works.
