When it comes to battery life, phone calls, multipoint connection and sound quality though, you can save a lot of money by great alternatives around 50 dollars - the SoundPEATS Air4 if you want fuller lows or the Oppo Enco Air3 if you want a sound that out-details and out-balances the AirPods 4. CNN Underscored calls the AirPods 4 an almost-perfect AirPods Pro alternative. The review praises sound quality and feature set, while noting that the ANC model adds wireless charging and extra convenience features.

Engadget describes the AirPods 4 as bringing many Pro-like features to a more affordable model. It highlights strong sound, Spatial Audio, and IP54 protection, making them a compelling mainstream Apple earbud choice.

RTINGS says the AirPods 4 are good for sports and fitness because the IP54 rating helps with dust and splashes, and the open design keeps awareness high outdoors. It also says their audio reproduction is good, but they are only middling for commuting and travel.

SoundGuys says the AirPods 4 are the best-value AirPods yet. It emphasizes their lightweight design, improved sound, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and IP54 durability, while noting they still use AAC rather than higher-end codecs.
