Moondrop Horizon Review - What have they done??

The Headphone Show20.7K viewsJul 2025

The reviewer finds the Moondrop Horizon's design intriguing, especially the open grill and magnetic pads, but concludes that its dark, muffled, and harsh sound signature is not competitive at the $200 price point. They note that while it could be a good modding platform, it fails to meet the quality bar set by rivals like the HD 6XX and FT1 Pro, and they do not recommend it.

Moondrop Horizon Review - It’s Not Bright

GadgetryTech14.3K viewsJul 2025

The reviewer finds the Moondrop Horizon to be a well-built, comfortable open-back headphone with a very dark sound signature, particularly recessed in the mid and treble regions. While it offers good bass and easy serviceability, the dark tuning and shallow ear clearance may not suit everyone, especially those with smaller heads.

Like ZMF, Sennheiser and Focal all rolled together... Moondrop Horizon review

Passion for Sound7.5K viewsNov 2025

The reviewer finds the Moondrop Horizon to be a well-balanced, comfortable, and easy-to-listen-to headphone that combines design elements from more expensive models like the Sennheiser HD800 and Focal Utopia, but at a much lower price. While it has excellent bass and a natural midrange, a slight treble peak and a cut around 4kHz give it a somewhat veiled sound that may not suit everyone. The soundstage is average for the price, and it faces stiff competition from the Hifiman HE400SE and Fiio FT1 Pro, but the reviewer prefers the Horizon for its relaxed, non-fatiguing character.

chi-fi is still not good

it sounds surprisingly bad, it sounds like free headphones or airplanes, all mids, boomy and muddy base, for 20 dollars it would be ok headphones, for 200 dollars it looks like a very very strange deal
