The HearWiki takeAI-condensed
The KZ EDX Ultra is a budget-friendly wired IEM with a lively, bass-forward V-shaped sound and a comfortable, well-built design that belies its low price. It offers strong value for the money, though its uneven tuning and less refined treble and mids hold it back from competing with pricier options.

15:12(ENG) CCA CRA VS CCA CRA+ VS KZ EDX PRO VS KZ EDX ULTRA VS KZ EDA (BALANCE) 1DD KZ CCA IEMS
The reviewer compares five budget IEMs from KZ and CCA, finding them all very similar in build and fit. They consider the KZ EDX Pro the worst due to its harsh, V-shaped sound, while the CCA CRA+ is recommended as a more balanced and harmonious option than the KZ EDX Ultra. The KZ EDA Balanced is noted as the most balanced but least exciting, and the reviewer ultimately suggests the CCA CRA+ for most listeners.

13:01KZ EDX Ultra Review - Great Performing Single DD
The reviewer finds the KZ EDX Ultra to be a solid budget single-dynamic-driver IEM with a fun, bass-forward tuning and good technical performance for the price. They note the upper treble is a bit elevated, which can cause fatigue at higher volumes, and they dislike the cheap-looking gold disc design. Overall, they recommend it if found at the right price, considering it a clear improvement over the EDX and EDX Pro.

18:57KZ EDX Ultra - Just when you thought things couldn't get any better!!
The reviewer concludes that the KZ EDX Ultra is the best-tuned budget IEM from KZ so far, offering a refined sound that fixes the treble issues of previous models like the CRA Plus. It delivers clean, detailed bass, well-executed mids, and controlled treble extension, making it the most sensible choice for anyone without the earlier versions. While not a major upgrade for existing CRA Plus owners, it is a highly capable $20 IEM that shows KZ's improvement in tuning.
