The HyperX Cloud Alpha™ S builds upon the groundbreaking Cloud Alpha and features HyperX virtual 7.1 surround sound.
The HyperX Cloud Alpha S is a wired gaming headset that prioritizes comfort and sturdy build quality, making it suitable for long sessions. Its sound is punchy and customizable via bass controls, though the tuning leans toward the mids and lacks detailed treble. The virtual surround feature is underwhelming, so the headset performs best in standard stereo mode for gaming.

Video reviews we found, each condensed to its verdict. They do feed the HearWiki score, at a measured weight below what a published written review carries.
9:12The reviewer finds the HyperX Cloud Alpha S to be a solid, premium-built gaming headset with excellent overall audio quality, particularly praising the virtual 7.1 surround sound for immersion. They appreciate the unique bass adjustment sliders and comfortable design, though they note the lack of software EQ and the tricky ear cup swapping as minor drawbacks. Overall, they recommend it as a strong all-round option.
15:02The reviewer initially dismissed the HyperX Cloud Alpha S due to underwhelming experiences with the original Alphas, but was pleasantly surprised by significant improvements. They highlight the unique bass adjustment sliders, comfortable hybrid ear cushions, and versatile connectivity across platforms as standout features, concluding it's a strong gaming headset worth considering.
9:25The reviewer finds the HyperX Cloud Alpha S to be a well-built, premium-feeling gaming headset that excels in sound quality, particularly with a wide soundstage and excellent directional audio for competitive play. However, comfort can be finicky with the pleather ear cups, the 7.1 surround sound is poor, and the cable is unwieldy. Overall, it's considered a great buy at its current discounted price.
3:51The reviewer highly recommends the HyperX Cloud Alpha S for its exceptional audio quality, particularly the adjustable bass sliders that enhance immersion, and its comfortable, solid build. The microphone is also praised for crystal-clear capture, making it suitable for gaming, streaming, and video conferencing, despite being a wired headset.
