Hifiman He600 First Impressions, Pauls Little Room

Pauls Little Room Reviews134.8K viewsFeb 2026

The reviewer gives first impressions of the HiFiMan HE600 planar headphones, noting they are easy to drive and offer excellent sound quality with exceptional bass detail and imaging, though the soundstage is somewhat constrained. However, he criticizes the build quality and ergonomics, particularly the headband fit for larger heads, the loose pad attachment, and the overall plastic construction, which he feels is not commensurate with the price.

HE600 Review: Modern HiFiMAN vs the HE-6 Legacy

The Headphone Show31.6K viewsOct 2025

The reviewer finds the HiFiMAN HE600 to be a very good sounding planar magnetic headphone that, despite its name, does not sound like the legendary HE-6. Instead, it behaves more like an improved Sundara with better build quality, comfort, and a more linear, tonally accurate sound. While it lacks the intense bass impact of the HE-6, it offers excellent clarity and detail, making it a strong option at its price point, though it can sound a bit aggressive with rock and metal recordings.

WAY too Expensive! Hifiman HE-600 Review

Joshua Valour12.2K viewsAug 2026

The reviewer finds the HiFiMAN HE600 to be a competent but unremarkable headphone that is significantly overpriced at $800. While the build quality is decent and the frequency response is fairly even, the sound lacks dynamics and is easily outperformed by cheaper HiFiMAN models like the Sundara and Edition XS, as well as the Arya Organic at a similar price. The reviewer concludes that there is no compelling reason to choose this headphone over its competitors.

Clean, airy cymbals and horns, even at exaggerated volumes

I like loud clean bass. I also goose up the highs (as much as 8 to more than 12db from about 4-14 khz) in order to compensate for my personal hearing profile. At these extremes, I have found noRead more

Great headphones

Not to heavy and wonderful sound

Shouty clampy and markedly worse than Arya stealth

Save your money and get the Arya stealth. These are shouty have big clamp and barely fit a size 8 head. Bass is underwhelming.

I regret getting these

Sounds good, but my unit has started shocking my left ear after a few months of use. The latest was painful, and I will not be using these headphones again.
