FiiO FH5s

The reviewer compares the FiiO FH5s to the Moondrop Aria and SeeAudio NEO, finding the FH5s visually appealing but sonically problematic due to excessive treble that causes discomfort. Despite trying various tuning switches and amplifiers, the reviewer could not tame the harshness, concluding that the FH5s falls short of the original FH5 and is not worth the higher price compared to the cheaper Aria.

The reviewer finds the FiiO FH5s to be a well-built and comfortable in-ear monitor with a mild V-shaped, slightly bright sound signature. He praises the bass quality and overall clarity, but notes the fit is not the most secure and the sound can be a bit sterile. He concludes it's a solid option in its price range, though not without minor drawbacks.

The reviewer finds the FiiO FH5s visually stunning but sonically polarizing. They describe the sound as thin and bright from the midrange up, with a lack of authority, though the bass is powerful with the right tips. They conclude it's a love-it-or-hate-it tuning and recommend trying before buying, suggesting alternatives like the FH5 or Dunu Zen for those seeking an upgrade.

The reviewer finds the FiiO FH5s to have an extremely offensive and harsh treble, which makes listening to their music library uncomfortable. Despite a decent bass and midrange, the treble is so piercing that it ruins the overall experience, leading them to not recommend the earphones. They also criticize the placement of a balanced armature in the nozzle, which they believe contributes to the harshness.

The reviewer finds the FiiO FH5s a significant improvement over the original FH5, with much clearer sound and a useful tuning switch system for bass, mids, and treble. They recommend using the bass and mid switches with the standard tips to get the best performance, though they note the treble is not as refined as other aspects. Overall, they consider it a great in-ear monitor when played to its strengths, particularly in bass.
