Generation & platform
The scores rank quality. This is the other question: is the newer one actually newer technology, or the same platform in a new shell?
Same generation
TRUTHEAR GATE (2024) against Tanchjim One 2023 (2023). These are the same generation of hardware - nothing in the radio, the codecs or the noise cancelling separates them. The platform is level; the newer hardware shows up in convenience features instead - the Tanchjim One 2023 adds USB-C.

What reviewers said
Tanchjim One 2023
The Tanchjim One 2023 is a budget-friendly wired IEM that pairs a single 10mm dynamic driver with a titanium-coated diaphragm for crisp, extended highs. Its low 16-ohm impedance and high 126 dB sensitivity make it easy to drive from any source, while the detachable 2-pin cable and USB-C option add versatility. With a wide 7Hz-45kHz frequency response, it aims to deliver detailed sound across the spectrum without relying on active noise cancellation.
- Pro:Wide frequency range for detailed treble and sub-bass
- Pro:High sensitivity and low impedance for easy pairing with phones or dongles
- Pro:Detachable 2-pin cable allows custom upgrades
- Con:No active noise cancellation, so isolation depends on ear tips
- Con:Single dynamic driver may lack the separation of multi-driver sets
- Con:Wired design limits portability compared to true wireless options
