Reviewers generally agree that the Skullcandy Hesh 540 ANC offers excellent battery life (up to 65 hours) and a versatile, balanced sound with effective noise cancellation for its price, making it a solid all-rounder for everyday use.
11:28The reviewer tested the Skullcandy Hesh 540 ANC for a week and considers them a significant upgrade over previous Hesh models, praising the improved ANC, THX spatial audio, and much longer battery life. They find the sound more refined and the build more premium, though they note the call quality is inconsistent and there's no water resistance. Overall, they recommend them as the best Hesh headphones yet for the premium price.
7:23The reviewer compares the Skullcandy Hesh 540 ANC against the Sony 720n and JBL Tune 770NC, finding the Skullcandy to be the most flexible and the only one with wear detection, but it falls short in microphone quality, app features, and noise cancellation. Overall, it's a decent budget option but not the top pick in this comparison.
8:02The reviewer found the Skullcandy Hesh 540 ANC headphones to be surprisingly good for their price, with excellent sound quality, strong bass, and clear call audio. However, they noted that noise cancellation is only about half as effective as on premium Sony models, and raised concerns about long-term durability based on Skullcandy's past track record. The battery life claim of 65 hours was found to be accurate in real-world use, but the lack of app support at launch was a minor drawback.
5:28The reviewer compares the Skullcandy Hesh 540 ANC against the Sony 720N and JBL 770NC across two music genres. The Skullcandy consistently ranked last in both tests, with notable bass distortion and popping during hip-hop playback, while the other two headphones performed better overall.
3:02The reviewer finds the Skullcandy Hesh 540 ANC to be a well-rounded pair of over-ear headphones, praising their long battery life, effective noise cancellation, and customizable sound via the app. While noting the plastic build and typical consumer sound as drawbacks, they conclude these are a compelling choice for everyday use, travel, and calls, especially for bass lovers.
3:51The reviewer compares the Skullcandy Crusher EVO and Hesh 540 ANC, concluding that the Crusher EVO is a specialist for intense bass, while the Hesh 540 ANC is a more versatile all-rounder with better balance, ANC, and battery life. The Hesh 540 ANC is recommended for most users, but the Crusher EVO is better for bass-heavy music and fun.
