Reviewers largely agree that the Philips Fidelio X2 excels in build quality, comfort, and bass performance, making it a strong value for gaming and bass-heavy music.
10:54The reviewer is highly impressed with the Philips Fidelio X2, calling them the best-built headphones he has ever handled and among the best-sounding he has heard all year. He finds them comfortable, with excellent bass and clarity, and believes they are absolutely worth their $300 price tag, despite a minor quirk in their soundstage that he suggests can be improved with crossfeed settings.
10:20The reviewer praises the Philips Fidelio X2 as a significant improvement over the X1, with fixes to comfort and build issues and a notably balanced, satisfying sound. He considers it a top-tier headphone, nearly displacing the HD600, and highly recommends it despite minor caveats about treble refinement and tube amp compatibility.
7:54The reviewer finds the new Gibson-manufactured Philips Fidelio X2 headphones to be sonically and physically identical to the original Woox-made version, dismissing widespread quality concerns as overblown. He notes that while some units may have defects, his sample performed excellently in bass, soundstage, comfort, and build, and he still recommends them as a great value, though he advises buying from retailers with good return policies.
7:49The reviewer finds the Philips Fidelio X2 well-built and comfortable for long sessions, but is disappointed by the sound quality, citing a strong mid-bass bump, high distortion at moderate volumes, and a recessed midrange with sharp treble peaks. They conclude the headphones are not high-fidelity and are better suited for gaming or casual listening, especially if found under $100.
28:58The reviewer tests two new Dekoni replacement pads (leather and suede) for the Philips Fidelio X2 and X3. He finds both pads significantly improve comfort and sound quality over the stock pads, with the leather pads adding more bass impact and detail, and the suede pads providing a warmer, airier sound. He recommends them as a worthwhile upgrade for both headphones.
5:01The reviewer finds the Philips Fidelio X2 to be an excellent value under $300, praising its robust build, exceptional comfort, and strong bass performance, while noting it falls slightly behind competitors in mid/high detail and is heavier than some alternatives. Overall, it's highly recommended for gaming and bass-heavy music, with the weight being the main drawback.
