The reviewer gives a critical assessment, saying the GL2000 sounds warm with the stock leather pads and a bit more neutral with the perforated hybrid pads. The overall conclusion is that it offers too little for its asking price, with resolution and bass transient performance described as merely average.

The review says the GL2000 is a good entry point into planar magnetic headphones and highlights its warm-ish presentation, good texture, solid dynamics, and enjoyable musicality. It frames the headphone as a generally strong performer, especially for listeners new to planar sound.

The review describes the GL2000 as Gold Planar’s flagship open-back planar magnetic headphone with a double magnetic circuit and says it is not especially hard to drive. The overall conclusion is favorable on technical grounds, though the emphasis is more on its design, measured specs, and drivability than on a strongly stated tonal verdict.

The reviewer found the GL2000 engaging and attractive, with strong comfort, but not the most refined headphone at its price. The tone is positive overall, while still noting that better refinement may be available from competitors at the same price.

The reviewer found the double-sided magnet version notably easier to drive than the single-sided version and praised its measured distortion performance, especially outside the sub-bass. The review presents it as a strong technical performer among planar headphones, with efficiency being one of its standout traits.
