Reviewers agree the Focal Bathys MG is a clear upgrade over the original Bathys, with improved sound quality from the magnesium drivers, better comfort, and a premium build.
17:17The reviewer finds the Focal Bathys MG to be a clear improvement over the original Bathys, with a smoother, more balanced midrange and a more cohesive overall sound. While the bass is still elevated and can sound a bit thick or boomy at times, the treble is clear and the dynamic mode offers a well-tuned alternative. Comfort is generally excellent due to very compliant pads, though large-eared listeners may find their ears touching the baffle.
10:11The reviewer praises the Focal Bathys MG as a significant upgrade over the original, highlighting improved sound quality from the magnesium drivers, better noise cancellation, and a more premium build. They conclude it's a top-tier wireless audiophile headphone that delivers on performance and luxury, though not the absolute best in ANC or battery life.
14:27The reviewer finds the Focal Bathys MG to be one of the best-sounding wireless headphones available, with significant comfort and sound quality improvements over the original Bathys. However, they question whether the $1,500 price is justified, especially when compared to cheaper alternatives like the Sennheiser HD 630, and note that the noise canceling is not top-tier. Overall, they praise its premium build and wired-like USB DAC performance but remain conflicted about its value and flashy design.
9:32The reviewer finds the Focal Bathys MG a significant improvement over the original, fixing the harsh metallic sound and weak bass while offering excellent comfort. They praise the spacious, warm sound and practical design, but note the mids are somewhat suppressed and the ear cups aren't real leather. They conclude it's a top-tier wireless headphone, ranking it second behind the Solitaire T overall, but potentially first for comfort, and recommend it for most users despite some competition.
35:30The reviewer praises the Focal Bathys MG for its premium build, elegant design, and excellent sound quality across wireless, DAC, and wired modes. He notes the lack of LDAC/AptX HD support and the inability to use the headphones passively without battery power as minor drawbacks, but overall considers them a worthy upgrade in the high-end wireless headphone market.
13:19The reviewer finds the Focal Bathys MG to be a significant upgrade over the original Bathys, especially after using the personalized sound setup in the Focal Naim app, which transforms the sound from good to best-in-class. They praise its clear, high-resolution sound, effective noise canceling, and premium build, concluding it's the best wireless headphone they've heard for on-the-go use, despite the high price.
