Reviewers agree the Sennheiser HD 620s is a comfortable, well-built closed-back headphone with good passive isolation and easy drivability, making it a strong option in its price range.
10:47The reviewer finds the Sennheiser HD 620s to be a solid closed-back headphone, especially given the limited competition in its price range. While it has some tonal quirks like a boxy midrange and slightly emphasized mid-bass, it offers good comfort, build quality, and technical performance, making it a worthwhile option for those seeking a closed-back under $400.
16:33The reviewer finds the Sennheiser HD 620S to be a comfortable, well-built closed-back headphone that sounds good most of the time, but has occasional tonal inconsistencies (boxiness or brightness) and a timbre that doesn't match the open-back HD600 series. It is considered a strong closed-back option, comparable to the HD 660S, though not excellent, and is recommended for electronic and spatial audio content.
10:28The reviewer finds the HD 620S to be a decent closed-back headphone with good noise isolation and a balanced, if slightly stale, sound signature. However, they feel it doesn't live up to the legendary 600 series legacy, particularly in mid-range weight and treble consistency, and believe the $350 price is too high, suggesting it would be better valued around $200-250. They personally prefer the Audeze Maxwell at this price point, but acknowledge some listeners may enjoy its sound.
29:03The reviewer purchased the Sennheiser HD 620S and finds it a surprisingly strong closed-back headphone for the price, praising its comfort, easy drivability, and overall sound quality despite a slightly thick mid-bass and some treble forwardness. He considers it a solid value among closed-backs under $500, though not without minor compromises.
13:15The reviewer finds the Sennheiser HD 620S to be an excellent closed-back headphone for music, comfort, and certain games like Valorant and Deadlock, praising its imaging and resolution. However, it falls behind in competitive titles like Apex Legends and Call of Duty due to weaker separation and depth perception in busy or distant scenarios. The reviewer recommends it for single-player games and Valorant, but not as a top-tier all-around competitive gaming headphone.
10:47The reviewer finds the Sennheiser HD 620s to be a well-built and comfortable closed-back headphone, but notes that its soundstage does not live up to the open-back-like claims, and that bass response is inconsistent, especially for glasses wearers. They recommend it only for niche users who don't wear glasses and accept its limitations, suggesting alternatives like the HD 490 Pro or DT 700 Pro X.
