Headfonics finds the FT13 easy to drive and technically capable, but says the tuning is not well balanced. The sound is described as uneven and dark in the midrange, though the review still gives it a fairly positive score.

The reviewer says the FT13 looks and feels premium, but its performance does not justify the price. They criticize it for falling short of the cheaper FT1 and rate it poorly overall.

FiiO’s own review summary says the FT13 is not easy to recommend in stock form because neither pad option lands in neutral territory. It highlights a bright treble balance and a V-shaped character depending on the pads.

The reviewer feels the FT13 improves build quality and comfort over the FT1, but the sonic tuning is a step backward. Their overall view is that the FT13 is less compelling than its predecessor and not the better buy.

TechRadar describes the FT13 as well-organized in sound and distinctive in design, but lacking some energy or bite. The review emphasizes its easy drivability and broad frequency range.
