Focal Clear

The reviewer reaffirms that the Focal Clear is his favorite Focal headphone and one of his all-time top five, praising its warm-neutral, complete sound signature, excellent mid-range, and controlled bass. He compares it favorably to the Meze 109 Pro and the Focal Clear MG, noting that while it isn't groundbreaking in soundstage or imaging, it avoids the flaws of other Focals and offers a highly enjoyable, faultless listening experience. A guest also gives it a perfect 10/10 rating.

The reviewer bought the Focal Clear and finds it a well-rounded, safe daily driver that excels in dynamics and comfort, though its timbre is slightly lacking. It performs well across all categories without being the best in any, and pairs particularly well with tube amplifiers.

The reviewer praises the Focal Clear as his favorite Focal headphone so far, highlighting its clean, crisp, and laid-back sound signature that remains detailed without being aggressive. He finds the build quality excellent and the design beautiful in person, though he notes minor weaknesses in mid-range fullness for some instruments and vocal separation. Overall, he strongly recommends it for those who appreciate this sound signature, finding no fatal flaws.

The reviewer compares the Focal Clear and Elex, noting they share a similar sound signature but differ in presentation. He personally prefers the Clear for its more laid-back, natural, and refined sound, especially in treble, bass tightness, and soundstage, while the Elex is more intense and forward, with a warmer vocal presentation. Despite preferring the Clear, he recommends the Elex for its value, as it delivers nearly the same performance at a lower price.
