Reviewers consistently praise the Beoplay Portal for its premium build quality, lightweight comfort, and excellent music sound quality, making it a strong all-rounder for both gaming and daily use.
24:40The reviewer finds the Beoplay Portal to be an exceptionally well-built and comfortable headset with outstanding sound quality for music and effective noise cancellation, but notes significant drawbacks including a high price, limited battery life, and the inability to mix Bluetooth audio with game audio, making it a niche product for dedicated audiophiles.
16:44The reviewer finds the Beoplay Portal for PC and PS to be an excellent hybrid headset that excels in both gaming and daily use, praising its comfort, sound quality, and noise cancellation. Despite the high price, they believe it justifies the cost for those wanting a premium all-rounder, though they note some control layout quirks and a less clear microphone compared to boom mics.
7:20The reviewer tested the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal as both a gaming headset and music headphones, finding it excellent for sound quality and comfort, though the noise cancellation is weaker than rivals and the price is very high. It works well with Xbox and Bluetooth, but the app can be finicky and battery life is average.
13:53The reviewer compares the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal and the Xbox Wireless Headset for gaming and general use, concluding that the Beoplay Portal is the better overall choice due to its more neutral sound, ANC, and versatility for commuting and office use, despite its higher price and shorter battery life. The Xbox Wireless Headset is recommended for dedicated Xbox gamers who prioritize mic quality and longer battery life.
12:37The reviewer spent two weeks with the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal and found it to be a luxurious, comfortable, and stylish headset with excellent music sound quality, but it falls short as a gaming headset. The microphone picks up excessive background noise, battery life is short for gaming, active noise cancellation is underwhelming, and the software lacks gaming-focused features. At $500, the reviewer believes it doesn't justify its price compared to cheaper gaming headsets with similar or better performance.
12:53The reviewer compares the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal with the Xbox Wireless Headset, concluding that while the Portal is significantly more expensive, it offers superior build quality, comfort, and a more balanced sound profile suitable for music, movies, and gaming. The Xbox headset is recommended for budget-focused gamers who primarily play on Xbox, while the Portal is for those wanting a premium all-rounder, despite its lack of simultaneous Bluetooth and Xbox connectivity.
